Saban Trolls Auburn... Again

Nobody loves trolling the auburn fanbase more than me.  But University of Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban has downright mastered the art.  Earlier today, auburn university was so confident that auburn native Rashaan Evans would be wearing orange & blue, they had a major case of premature posting on the university's website:

Oops.

A short time later Evans, the No. 2 outside linebacker in the ESPN 300, informed everyone that he will be taking his talent to Tuscaloosa.  Until just recently, Evans had been considered an auburn lock.  But never underestimate Nick Saban & Kirby Smart.  The recruiting battle began really heating up last month & culminated over the weekend when coaching staffs from both Alabama & auburn attended Evans' grandfather's birthday party.  Though it has been widely reported that both staffs were extremely cordial, you know that had to be awkward as hell!  In the end, Kirby Smart showed off his mad closing skills & convinced Evans that The University of Alabama was the best choice for him.

These last minute flips involving Alabama & Auburn are becoming a yearly event.  And I must admit, it's quickly becoming my favorite National Signing Day tradition.  In 2011, in one of the most bizarre NSD stories ever, Cyrus Kouandjio announced he would be attending auburn university only to sign his letter of intent with Bama.  The very next year, Brent Calloway left auburn at the altar for the Tide.  Though that one didn't end well, screwing over auburn is never a bad thing.  Just last year, TJ Yeldon & the Alabama staff performed the greatest troll in the history of recruiting when he flipped from the orange & blue to Alabama just moments before the recruiting dead period began.  By the time coaches were allowed to get back on the recruiting trail, Yeldon was already enrolled at the Capstone.

Hey auburn......

In the midst of the Evans news today, it's evident that we have a coach who is unsurpassed when it comes to recruiting.  And it's paid off quite nicely by winning national championships in 2009, 2011, & 2012.  And on the rare occasional when Alabama isn't bringing home crystal, Saban always has his teams in the hunt.  But today proved something else.  No matter how focused he is on the process...  No matter how hard he works to be the best...  He is never too busy to troll that team across the state we all love to hate.  I am starting to believe he meant what he said when he asked his team, "don't you know how much I hate these guys?".

Alabama will land the #1 recruiting class yet again this year.  But I gotta admit, trolling auburn is always the funnest part of National Signing Day.  Welcome to Alabama, Mr. Evans.  Get ready to achieve greatness...

Thanks for stopping by, y'all! Roll Tide! Roll Saban! Roll Evans!
