2014 SEC- Chaos Defined....

Image
Chaos-  Complete disorder & confusion. Synonyms: 1. DISARRAY Everyone loves The Ole' Ball Coach...  Name another coach with his resume' that is so comfortable letting his freak flag fly?  Yeah, I got nothing either.  But let's all agree that it's time for Spurrier to take his talent to Augusta. For good.  Maty Mauk almost sent him to that golf course in the sky tonight if not for DE David Johnson.  We all love his soundbites but wouldn't you agree that Spurrier is becoming more like your great uncle who farts at Thanksgiving dinner & less like the coaching legend he once was?  I hope Spurrier retires soon & can be remembered for all he contributed to this beloved sport.  If he hangs out much longer, he'll simply be the punchline. 2.  PANDEMONIUM I won't lie.  I bought into the confidence Boom displayed in the pre-season.  And watching the triple overtime win against Kentucky had me scratching my he

It's Florida Week- Get Your Hate On!

T he Alabama Crimson Tide starts SEC play this week when they take on the Florida Gators at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in Bryant Denny Stadium.  I flipping hate Florida, y'all!  I feel like we get so caught up in making fun of Tennessee & dealing with little brother that we don't take the time to give Florida the hate they deserve.  So I felt the need to remind my fellow Bammers of this rich history of hate. While Steve Spurrier was at Florida, his team met The Tide in the 1st ever SEC Championship Game.  Bama was the decisive favorite thanks to our veteran coaching staff led by Gene Stallings & our beastly defense.  But the offensive genius that made the ole' ball coach a legend almost caused an upset.  Thank you Antonio Langham for the interception that broke the tie & ultimately would result in #12.  We would go on to meet Spurrier in the championship 4 more times with an overall record of 2-3.  If that isn't enough, he also threatened to turn i

What Quarterback Controversy? Blake Sims, Y'all!!!

C oach Nick Saban made it clear after today's thrashing of FAU he didn't give a single f#@* what fans think about the quarterback competition going on in T-town.  I'm okay with that because if I had the knowledge it takes to be a 4 time National Championship Coach, I sure as heck wouldn't be pushing drugs for my day job.  With that being said, it doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. I admit it.  In the pre-season, I bought into the Coker hype. Hook. Line. Sinker.  But the more I learn about Blake Sims, the more I fall in love with him.  This year's spring game coupled with mop up duty on numerous stat games thru the years didn't give me any reason to believe in the eternal back-up quarterback.  But after today's game, I got to thinking...  Can someone explain to me when and why 'game manager' became a dirty word?  There's something to be said for being a leader & if memory serves me correctly, those same leadership skills se
