Tinder: How Safe Is It?
Another day... Another rogue app...
While I admittedly don't know much at all about the popular new app named Tinder, I've come to have a serious problem with it. And you should, too. From what I gather, it's basically another dating app with a twist. From wikipedia:
This Natalie girl is very pretty! I don't blame so many guys for doing whatever you do on Tinder to meet up with her! Except for the fact that these pictures, along with numerous other ones she's posted, are all of my sister (who IS NOT Natalie & does not even have a Tinder account). The first one I took while having dinner at a popular local establishment & the 2nd was taken just weeks ago with one of her best friends while celebrating his birthday.
Before you pass this off as being a little too uptight, consider this. This is a location based app. People seeing her profile are in her vicinity. The people who've screencapped this have been in my sister's vicinity. What if this pathetic waste of life tells someone in the vicinity of my sister she has a rape fantasy? What if she leads on a complete psycho? 'Natalie' won't be the one damaged by this if the right person sees my sister in the grocery store or pumping gas one day. But it will be my sister's life that's ruined if the unspeakable happens.
After numerous attempts to contact Tinder, we have yet to hear back. Considering the popularity of this app, I think it's time we make a statement that this will not be tolerated.
This could be your sister... This could be your child...
Help us find 'Natalie'. And more importantly, help us let Tinder know that our kids' safety won't be sacrificed.
ONE VOICE MATTERS....

Using Facebook profiles, Tinder gathers users' basic information and analyzes users' social graph to match potential candidates who are most likely to be compatible based on geographical location, number of mutual friends and common interests. Based on the results of potential candidates, the app allows the user to anonymously like or pass them. If two users like each other then it results in a "match" and Tinder introduces the two users and opens a chat. How awesome does that sound? Except, think of all the people who have access to your facebook pictures. Just today, I learned that my sister has received numerous screenshots from people who have ran across a girl calling herself 'Natalie'. Meet Natalie:
